PHOTO TENTS

We also use photo tents when photographing capercaillie and great snipe. It is also possible to use it for other desired species. The advantage of photo tents is that they can be placed and moved freely.

These tents are for one to two persons and have one to several hatches from which you can photograph.

For the capercaillie, the tents are set up on the playground. This is about two kilometers walking on fairly flat terrain. In the evening you will step into the tents, where you will spend the night in the tent. You will be picked up by us the day after.

We are considering working with a fixed cabin, but for the time being we will continue to work with the photo tents.

The ideal time to come and photograph these birds is between halv April til halv May (mating time). This mating time can vary with the winter conditions.

We have to walk two kilometers to photograph the great snipe. This hike is steep for the first part of the hike. A good condition is therefore a must. A real spectacle awaits them for those who do venture. The great snipe come up to the tent, which is always wonderful to see and hear.

Here the walk is done in the late afternoon with an overnight in the tent. In that period we are experiencing the midnight sun, which means that it does not get very dark. This gives the opportunity to shoot almost all night.

However, the photography of great snipes is limited in time. They play from approximately June 15 to approximately July 1. This is the ideal time to observe and photograph these beautiful birds.
